Jae Millz is a New York native who grew up in Washington Heights and Harlem. His passion for music was inspired by his family?s record collection, which included Barry White, Al Green, and Prince. As a kid, hip-hop became a way of life for him as his surroundings inspired him to write rhymes, resulting in frequent lunchtime battles in the cafeteria at New York?s High School of Art and Design, where he honed his lyrical skills. If his name sounds familiar, that?s because Jae Millz is not a newcomer to the game. Prior to signing with YME, he recorded three solo albums for three other labels, but they were all shelved. ?It?s all about timing,? he says, adding, ?I don?t think I can have a better debut than being part Young Money/Cash Money family.? Indeed, after Lil Wayne extended his hand and invited Jae Millz join YME, he quickly went from performing in front of a hundred people to performing in sold out arenas.
