Lil Chuckee grew up in the Calliope Projects in New Orleans, but he now currently resides in Atlanta after being displaced by Hurricane Katrina. The 14-year-old rapper lists Nas, Jay-Z, Q-Tip, and Common among his top musical influences, along with his mentor Lil Wayne, and he recently dropped a mix-tape called Rapper?s Market, hosted by former New York Giants running-back Tiki Barber. Lil Chuckee was discovered by Lil Wayne, who overheard him spitting at a video shoot when he was only 9 years old. Wayne immediately wanted to sign Chuckee on the spot, but his parents made him wait until their son was a few years older. It was a smart move. Though he?s the youngest member of Young Money, Lil Chuckee has a good head on his shoulders and he recently founded an organization called Save Out Community Kids (SOCK) dedicated to helping better the youth of today by promoting positive images and helping the less fortunate.
